BIG news!!

Hey guys!

I finally wrote THE END!

I can’t believe it! My book is written! It’s done!

YA-AY ME!!

Last Friday, after *too* many years, I reached the final scene of this book. I really pushed myself, as you can see below –

My normal daily output is 2-3 of these little so-and-so’s (at about 350-400 words per page). Last Friday I wrote over 8 pages!  … and why I don’t have writer’s cramp is beyond me ….

Now I’m busy cobbling it all together on Word to print out to begin the editing process, and I hope to have that complete and the book itself published somewhere online by the first week of September.

— SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

(… er, I don’t normally do that ….)

Stay tuned — these are exciting days around here!

Start at the beginning

Hey guys!

When you move, what area in the house has to be set up first?

For me, it’s my desk. I just don’t feel settled until the papers and various miscellany are in their proper drawers or those familiar funnies and quotes are back under my glass desktop. Clothes can languish in a suitcase, boxes of food can sit on the counters and books can be set any-old-where on the shelves, but I must have a place to sit and scribble my thoughts and ideas.

I’m like that when I write too. Before I can start scribbling I have to have all my ducks lined up in a row — in my head, that is.  I have to ‘see’ the complete scene in my head before I can explore it on paper, and if the camera in my brain finds a blank spot (What do the kitchen cabinets look like?), I cannot continue until I figure it out.  That’s my version of Writer’s Block. I’ve been known to go for days or weeks before I can finally finish writing out that scene. And writing down various ideas doesn’t work for me; my head’s gotta figure it out first.

Why can’t you unpack the brain as easily as you can a cardboard box?

Moving Day

Hey guys!

Good to see you here.

I’m a writer (just finishing my first book), and getting ready to dip my little toe into the Wonderful World of Publishing.  Here I’ll be sharing about that, and what new story ideas are percolating in my brain.

But not only that.  All sorts of ideas will be under discussion here in the coming weeks and months, and I hope you’ll join with me.

Right now of course, the place is a mess; lots of boxes to unpack and furniture to arrange.  Though I’m just getting started, I think it’ll be very comfortable.

Please feel free to stick around!
